Toyo R888R's Vs Nankang Ar-1

Recommended Posts

Apologies if in the wrong section but I need to order my dry track tyres for when my C5 wheels come back from powder-coaters, and was going to get the new 888r's but have seen some good reviews of the Nankang AR-1s... just wondered if anyone has any direct comparison feedback at all?

On the 205 I'm only used to the AD08s on 1.9 alloys which I'm going to be using as wets so wet grip is not a factor!

Cheers, Paul

I cannot offer a direct comparison, having never tried the Nankang, buy after a mixed day of dry/wet at combe, I'd highly recommend the r888r. Even more grip than the old r888 in the dry, didn't go off as quick, and lead to a very confident feel. (Sounds like a deodorant ad! ????)

Thanks for the reply. I was all set for the 888r tyres until I saw I could get 5 AR-1s for the same price as 4 888r's... and they're meant to be harder wearing too! Think i'll give them a go!

Got AD08s on the existing wheels which i'll be keeping as wets/spares... just wanted something a little more 'slicky'

Do love the AD08s btw !
