When I sent my dizzy to H + H the spindle spun freely and there was plenty of oil inside the housing , when I got it back the spindle was noticeably less free spinning so I assume they changed the seal/'O' ring etc . Have found no oil since so it seems to work . Have stripped a dizzy or two down but have never got far enough to see the seal , might try it this week as I still have a spare in bits .

Mine conked out in Norfolk, and after testing everything in the ignition system, I eventually found that the dizzy was full of oil. Got the AA chap out, who replaced the outer seal, but it didn't take long for it to fill up again.

After I'd been recovered the 75 miles home, I had a go at disassembling the dizzy to see if I could get a look at the inner bushing. I got about half way through and then got scared! There's a lot going on in there, and a lot of scope for damaging / misadjusting things, so I put it back together and sent it off to H&H.

It wasn't cheap, but they did a magnificent job of overhauling it; it looked like new. Problem hasn't reoccurred, so it was obviously the inner bushing that was the problem.

It has a labyrinth seal. Not something easily repaired.

Hiya, I've got a spare-how much are they charging and did it come with a new vacuum (I suspect my spare 3are all goosed)

It's probably better to get guys that know how to rebuild stuff rather than buy a non known brand-that's my thoughts anyway
