1600 Oil Sump

Hi everyone

 

What are the differences if any between the 1.6 and 1.9 oil sumps?

 

What's the deal with spacers, mine doesn't have one (1.6) but ones I've seen for sale come with spacers. Are they needed? For a completely standard engine

only the XU9JA in a 205 and 309 and the XU9J4 used the stiffener plate, the effective sump volume and dipsticks are the same, but the sump is about 15mm shallower.

So a 1.9 sump with spacers will fit my XU5JA?

If you're building a revvy engine I certainly would consider the xu9ja sump and spacer/stiffener set up! Possibly with a custom baffle of some sorts too (very simple install). Cheap and effective modification, have had no issues at all with my sump and oil pressure on track with this set up.
