Daniel306 12 1 Cars Posted June 19, 2016 Have bought a new shell for my Gti, its a 1.1 but nearly rust free. planning to make templates to cut and drill the arches but im not to sure on the rear inner arch. steve@cornwall 100 Posted June 20, 2016 Did it to my 1.1 a you have a bit shell also, just make some templates from the gti arches and cut the outers away. With the inners you can then knock back/trim by eye.I sealed between the two with fibreglass filler (only bonded together anyway) as -)a, I don't weld and )b- the paintwork was good. One thing that was pointed out after I did it was that I was using a disc cutter rather close to the fuel tank, as you will be swapping tanks it may be a good idea to remove this first.
