Rolling Road Tomorrow!

Recommended Posts

stuRALLYE

After 4 years(!) off of the road my car is finally up and running again, thanks to everyone on here who has sold me parts or given me advice.

I've been driving it around for the last 2 weeks on a map that came with my Emerald ECU, and it seems to be going well. I'm booked in for the 8:30 slot at Interpro in Bristol tomorrow morning for a mapping session to get everything as it should be. It's now running a standard gti6 engine with jenvey 45s and a 4-2-1 exhaust manifold.

I'm hoping I can report back tomorrow that all went well!

Well I'm very happy with the result. Great mapping by dave at Interpro, and a really nice chap too.

Peak power 197.5bhp @147mph.

I'm off for a drive....

Enjoy! Sounds like you've had a bit of a 'mare getting this far, so go out, give it a spanking and enjoy the fruits of your efforts :)

I don't know! There isn't a reading on the printout I have and I wasn't thinking fully while I was there to ask. That's a bit weird! I'll call on Monday and see if he has it saved with the map and power runs.

I've been out in it though and along with the lsd it's great fun!

Which is - in my opinion at least - all that really matters on a road car. People get too hung up on numbers...

Yeah I agree, I'm not bothered about what it's making, rolling road figures blah blah blah. I wanted it to be set up well so it's fast on the road and that's what I've got so I'm over the moon with it.

Time to book a track day!

Solid figures, my standard gti6 engine made about 165whp, if you take about 20% losses, your figure seems spot on for a really healthy engine :)

What I will say is 147mph is probably near the limiter in 5th!

naah, it'll go to 155 with a long enough piece of road but peak would be 147 on a well timed up gti6 at around 6500.
