Steering Lock

I have noticed i seem to have a lot more lock when turning to the left than turning to the right when i rebuilt steering rack there was only one plastic stop bush i thought i had lost one so got another from scrap yard and fitted to other end should they have one on each end.?

Will have a look again will it have to be disconnected from coloum?

no, but the wheel will most likely need moving after the track rods are adjusted.

Ok but do u know if the plastic stops should be in both ends or just gearbox side?.

The bush/stop is fitted just on one side ..

 

As jackherer suggested , center the rack first , then adjust the track rod ends (both evenly , it's a must !) .. and see what happens afterwards .

Yes , opposite from the pinion side of the rack , so in your case being RHD car/rack that's it . Pinion side of the rack doesn't have any kind of bush/stop .
