V6 Tacho Ecu Output To 205 Rev Counter

Recommended Posts

GazMav

Hi again guys,

I'm having trouble getting my rev counter to work with the 406 ECU.

I have wire 426 (Pin 43 from the ECU) to the tacho wire on the brown 205 plug.

I have modded the rev counter using this guide:

http://forum.205gtidrivers.com/index.php?showtopic=114881&p=1061606

I have nothing on the rev counter and when I hook up a frequency counter on the tach wire, it measures all over the place and not the 22hz autodata says.

I'm stuck at the moment so any help at all would be really appreciated.

I'm guessing this could be an earth problem as I also don't get an earth on the blue coolant sensor which Autodata says should go straight to negative?

Thanks for you time guys.

Gaz

I used a rev counter from a citroen zx (I think) and it all just worked first time. I didn't have to modify anything.

Cheers guys,

Will try that James, I checked the GTI-6 ECU on autodata and it looks the same output for the 406 so should work.

Thanks Goliath, didn't even think about using one from another car, I'll look into it if the above doesn't work.

Hi GazMAv

Sorry for the old thread resurrection I am in the process of trying to do the same thing to by 205 which has a V6 installed but no rev counter and i just wondered which route you took in the end to get the rev counter to work.

Thanks

Kerry
