Car Engine Cutting Out While Driving

Recommended Posts

Tilou

Since buying my 205 in March - & the uneventful 45km drive home - it then started to cut out after driving for about 10 mins. It has been looked at by an ex-Peugeot mechanic, who also ran a diagnosis on it, and all attempts to solve the problem have failed.

He replaced the rev and mixture control sensors before washing his hands of the "unsolveable" problem. We have also replaced the non-working fuel pump relay this weekend and the car did run for a total of 7km yesterday with no engine failure.

Today it ran for about 8km before the engine cut out and the inevitable tow home occurred.

Although the temperature gauge sat no higher than 90, the OH noticed that the cooling fan was not running and since returning home we have not been able to restart the engine beyond the initial fuel priming stage.

Any help on identifying the problem will be much appreciated.
