Replacement Immobiliser Fob / Disconnecting The Immobiliser

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

So first post here and all that and it may appear to be quite a dodgy one. I have recently decided to get my old 205 up and running again. It has been sitting dead in my mum's garage for something like the last 10 years or so.

There is going to be a huge amount of work needed on it, I fully expect the engine to be totally ceased up after so long of not moving etc. But my first and main issue is that at this moment in time I have zero idea where the keys are.

I will be turning my mums house upside down and have all the relevant details to get a new set of keys done or even just have all the locks replaced. But the issue I have is that the immobiliser fob was of course on the keys.

It is only the standard factory immobiliser on the car, is it possible to get a new fob made and if so what details would I need or do I need to remove the immobiliser totally. I understand if this isn't a topic people want to explain because it could of course be used for illegal purposes.

Thanks all in advance.

Hi Paul

No 205 had a factory system, Dealers fitted them (The DIN type plug generally) and with the systems being so old you will never get another one but thankfully a doddle to bypass, even so called Pro fitted systems take a few seconds to bypass.

Any problems I might be able to pop down or bring it up

Hi Miles,

Thank you for that. Sadly at the moment the car is still in Essex, trying to talk the wife around letting me get it transported down to Dorset. I guess this is the reason I want to get this back up and running. Chance to have a play around and see what I can and can't do.

First step will be to try and find the key and second will be to follow the wiring from the immobiliser and see how to un-wire it and rewire the system were it was wired in to. Hopefully it is a doddle to bypass.

Cheers Miles.

I had a bit of luck last night, went to my mum's where my car is currently being kept. Spent a bit of time moving the 16 years worth of stuff which had been balance all over the car and opened her up.

There sitting in the ignition was the key, with immobiliser fob and alarm system fob. So now I'm good to go to start work on her.

She is in quite a state, I'll put a few pictures up of how she currently looks soon.
