ATK 142 1 Cars Posted April 29, 2016 Windscreen washer doesnt always work, 12v direct to pump works, and washer only sometimes works when you push the stalk in as well as pulling it towards you. So i think it is a stalk issue. Easy job to swap over?
allye 530 3 Cars Posted April 29, 2016 Not hard at all, well within your ability! All quite straight forward once you stick your head under there.
Ozymandis 97 Posted April 29, 2016 Double check its not poor connections due to degraded wires at the pump end or plain old manky connections in the plug and socket. Sometimes you have to cut back to good copper and splice an inch or three in. Get someone to hold the switch on whilst you work the plug on and off a few times. A smear of vaseline on the contacts helps prevent it reoccurring if its a manky plug/socket thing. Various self tappers and bits o plastic at column end, helps if you drop the column on its two nuts and studs, or if you cant be arsed with that, just tweak the bracket down when you have the shroud off, to get space to wriggle the switch out . 2-Pugs 57 Posted May 2, 2016 I have had a duff stalk cause that problem before. So it's entirely possible that's what's causing your problem ATK
