Kev20569 1 Posted April 14, 2016 I've got a 205 gti 1.9 road rally car brake set up it drums on the back standard 1.9 brakes with ds3000 on the mc the 2front ports are for the front bra,Les then the rear left port goes to the back wheel th through aeroquip pipe into a bias valve and into a t-piece the right port on the mc rear is blocked off . In a rally my brakes seem to fade very quickly I've bled and bled then it also has a hydraulic handbrake any ideas???
PhilNW 43 Posted April 14, 2016 How do you define the fade? lack of overall effort or something else Which wheels lock first, front or rear Does adjusting the bias valve make any difference? Do you have standard linings on the rear ? Can you lock the rear brakes with the hyd handbrake? Similar set up to mine (I have rear discs rather than drums and no hyd handbrake) and never had any problems
mikeyd 13 Posted April 14, 2016 are the brakes ok with normal road use or do they fade then too?is it just hard use when they fade and do they "pump up " on the pedal if like it all the time it may be the handbrake has air trapped as can be hard to bleed [an ezeebleed helps ]or is it possible the pads/discs have glazed ?
