205 1.6 Gti, Hot Start Problem?

Recommended Posts

pedjoni

when its cold the car usually starts on the button without any problems, if I take it for a good run, switch it off and then give it a min or so it still fires up without hesitation.

if I leave it for say 5-10 mins or so, its turning over for 5,6 seconds and then start... Does anyone had this problem ???

Next to the ECU in top of the drivers side little storage gap which is below and to the right of the steering wheel. But that is in a UK RHD car.

Yes, fuel pumps are the same for 1.6 and 1.9 GTi models of a given age. Fuel pressure is set by the fuel pressure regulator, and again, is the same on both - 3.0 bar.

I think I fixed my hot start problem... I ve changed Fuel Pressure regulator and fuel pump yesterday. For now everything seems more than ok... Car starts everytime as soon as I move the key. Also I noticed that car now runs much better when it is warmed up, so I am suspecting that fueal pump was the problem ...

I am afraid I did not solve my hot start problem... It is now the same like and before... When it happens , and car starts i can smell gasoline very strong after it starts... So i ve changed fuel pump, FPR, check for vacuum leaks. I am very frustated with this problem... It makes me nervous, I dont know what to do anymore ??? o.O

I could order it, it was around 220,00 euros in Montenegro. But I had one spare in my garage, I was a bit lucky :)
