307 Front Brake Conversion. Which Pads For Track?

Recommended Posts

efy2bjg

Hello folks

I'm shortly going to be converting my 1.6 brakes to a 307 hdi setup using base model hubs.

The question is, what pads do those with the 307 brake conversion go for? I'm looking for a track oriented choice.

Many thanks

Ben

Hi thanks, good to know. Are they pricey for the 307 fitment or am I just being tight!?

How much track use? If you're going to be using them on the road as well then perhaps the DS2500 would be more suitable.

DS3000's dust is pretty corrosive to wheels I believe as well.

anything for the Bosch calipers will cost a noticeable amount more than the same material for say a Clio caliper (same backing as the gti6)

They were 140ish, I had a good deal.

Mintex F4R's have loads more bite than DS3000's - although they're not cheap in common pads sizes ...

As above, no one who owns a 307 HDi run's uprated pads so pay a premium, much better with the 306 callipers as they work out cheaper long term and allot lighter

Thanks for all of the input folks. Noted.

The car is being put together for trackdays and weekends. Initial outing is a trip to the Nurburgring in the summer.

Has anyone got experience of how the standard pads hold up on track?

Standard pads will not last long before fading under heavy track use. Personally having to drive around the car annoys me hugely so updated pads are a must in my book.

The GTI6 calipers are cheap plentiful and cheaper to buy pads for!
