Bad Tailgate Struts?

Hi, i'm not sure if it's normal or not but when i close the tailgate and just leave it - it slams pretty hard like nothing is rectifing the close movement.

 

I checked the stop rubbers and it seems they are ok.

 

Do you think it a symptom of bad shocks or it supposed to be like that?

Mine sounds like the glass is gonna fall out and it's got new struts!!

If boot rubber stops or seal are knackered it'll sound worse

If struts are knackered boot will shut on your head (in a crowded place when you're trying to look cool! It's a 205 after all lol)
