Really chuffed with this video of my 205, I have had the car for about a year now after discovering it on gumtree... one owner car with 28k miles!

Absolute little beauty you have yourself there! Strong colour too. Great production on the film, better than some of the main car channels on youtube, quite a contrasrt from the 458 to a 205.

Loved watching that. My first car was an XS and is the only car I've owned that I wish I could have back.

Wow! Lovely car, have you done anything to it? It looks brand new. Great colour and reg as well.

I have had my XS for just over a year, got it on gumtree as well, G reg same as yours. 94K no history not even a log book and some of the worst paint I have seen on one. Just a little bit envious of your car :P

edit: I notice it has no insulation on the bonnet, I thought it was missing on mine but maybe somthing they did not fit on the xs.

Car was purchased from a gent in Brighton and had taken very good care of it. Car has ful history and wanted for nothing it's whole life. I love the fact it still has original dealer stickers and plates. Thank you for the kind words.

Thank you, its not our first peugeot, we had a 106 rallye and 2 306's - one of which was a track car and did 24 laps of the nurburgring in 1 day with no issues.

There seems to be quite a following for the XS, something I didn't really appreciate until driving one.

Enjoyed that, thank you for posting. As said impressive production too with some great camera work and angles.

As for the car what a great motor. I loved my xs, it was my first car. Bought from a mate of my brothers. It was in the same condition as yours but in graphite grey. I remember struggling to drive it at first as I was used to a diesel learner car :) I kangarooed it down the road with my brother husking his head at me  Once I had mastered the throttle and choke it gave me many good drive through the lanes. It just wanted to be driven, hard..

It was brilliant though but sadly (kind of) I had to move it on to purchase my first GTi. I still miss it now and to be honest if money had been no object I would have kept it.

As many others, one of my first 205's was a silver XS. I think we all seem to have cut our teeth there. A lot have disappeared due to the 205 Challenge rally series having a 1400 class a few years back and their popularity as a cheap way into road rallying / regularity etc. I know of people who have picked a very good condition one up for £50 in the past.

The gentleman who ordered yours must have asked for extra pinstripes as the doors look like the seats!! Also it has the red GTI strip in the bumpers whereas the XS came with a silver one from new. Just an observation, not a criticism in any way :)

The video is excellent, nice and simple, informative and picks out the detailling of the car. The bit that warmed the cockles of my heart was the sign of a choke light. That made me feel nostalgic as I have not seen one of those on for years!!!

Welcome to the forum, you have come in with a bang with that as a first post!

My first 205 in 1996 was a 1991 1.1 Style J676 KHG, MOT check shows last one in May 2006 at 86,000 miles. An XS might have been even more fun, but I loved that car. Served me, my sister and brother well until 2005.

And yep, I definitely remember the choke.

It's nice to see really smart 205s that aren't GTIs. There's a lad I saw had posted on Facebook who has just had a respray done on his 1.1! Good on him.

Great video. My first car was a TU3s XS and it certainly put a smile on my face. My friend also used to run around in them. One in particular had the XY8 "Lacoste".

As you say, fantastic cars that slipped below the radar!
