Plastic Door Coverings (Behind Door Cards)

Hi folks can anyone tell me if there should be a plastic/ cellophane sheet covering the door behind the door cards?

I removed a door card the other day and the door card itself has a cellophane covering but not the door. Should there be one?

If there should be one what would I stick it on with?

Mine had some. I replaced it with a sheet of sticky plastic, designed to be put on windows

I used butyl tape, and the stuff that is used to wrap things like new TVs or monitors, that sorta white foamy stuff, cut to shape over the holes in the door.
