Standard 1.6 Brakes With 406 Mc

My brakes are next to useless, even effort but not alot of it, iv purchased a 406 mc but don't think il have chance to get new hubs brakes etc soon and I have a trip to the ring in may... would a 406 master cylinder work well with the standard brake set up?

I don't think it would be wise on standard 1.6 calipers, the pistons are much smaller than what the 406 used, you'll have a mighty short pedal and less outright clamping pressure.

 

 

good pads and a 20.6mm mc would be sufficient, or a 22mm 306 item.
