Try and shift the engine on the 2 x 13mm nuts holding the gearbox mount down

Sorry that reply was clearly wrong :)

 

The shafts and be3 gearbox and original diff are all what we're in the car before. I can't help thinking that somethings gone wrong when the local garage changed the driveshaft deals. The engine was out prior to that, is it possible to get it out of position slightly!? I can't think how though!

 

I agree though, seems like the plunger but is bottoming out,
