Tail/boot Seal Options

Hi all,

My GR has a really bad leak into the boot - I think its the boot seal that basically had its day.

Does anybody know are they still available to buy anywhere or is there a modern alternative from another manufacturer/car?

Thanks!

There is a seller on eBay that does lengths of various seals. There is one very similar to the 205 boot seal. I've seen it fitted to someone else's car and it looked good. I'll probably get some of that this year. If you have a search there are previous discussions where people have used seals from other cars (think I saw a focus seal mentioned once?)

No worries. Mines been on for about 3 years and all dry in the boot still. Just make sure it's focus mk2.

Thanks for the recommendation on the Mk2 Focus seal as I think I could do with changing mine soon as I found some water ingress in mine today after washing the car.

Needed a few bits for my Mk1 Focus RS anyway, so at least I can get the seal ordered at the same time I'm in the dealer :)

well I resealed mine with a load of sealant- then discovered it was also letting in water at the boot lock and the washer nozzle- sealed those to.

All dry now!

The Peugeot Museum in France supply new ones if you wanted OEM, i just fitted one. Sounds like you have found what you need thoughelp and a focus one will definitely will be cheaper.

About £85 delivered to the UK. Ouch, but on the up side my boot is now in mint as new condition.
