Checking Oil Pressure

Im about to refit my rebuilt engine and i will turning over with coil etc to get oil around engine etc will the pressure gauge on the dash show a reading whilst cranking or should i put a manual gauge in to check?.

You're only turning it over until red oil light goes out-then you're good to go

If red light doesn't go out dont start it-so simple but amazing how many people cry when they've got it wrong
