New Sad

I need a new SAD for my 1.6 but can't find a brand new one available anywhere.

 

The part number I need is:

Bosch 0280140182

Peugeot 034537

 

Does anyone known of any other units are compatible?

Have you cleaned your old unit out ?

unlikely you actually need a "new" unit, they are a mych maligned very simple device, rarely do they actually fail.

luke I took mine off and cleaned it last week.

 

wired it into the side light for power and made sure the gap closed up.

 

Whilst I was at it I cleaned 2 others Ive acquired both of which I though would be broken. both worked perfectly

 

So as the guys have already said - its probabaly not broken

Connect it up to the battery with some wire and the aperture should close up within a few minutes . If its not working on the car check the connector is getting 12v when the ignition is on , the wire/connector could be corroded or broken .Spray some carb cleaner inside to remove any oil residue that may be gumming it up .

Carb cleaner, contact cleaner that's all you need

Check pipes to and from it

Ps easy to blame sad if you have an induction kit (in winter) I used to have to left foot brake my car for first couple of minutes-cars got original air box back on and magically sad is happy again
