A lot of 205's are affected like this including my own 1.9 - my method is to position the pump nozzle at 12 o'clock pointing as fully down as possible, then to depress lever gradually, never fully, works for me... takes longer but better than spilling fuel over the quarter panel etc... no idea what causes this, my breathers are clear too.

Yep, try and put nozzle down its throat and start slow-pump nozzles and fuel pumps (in most garages) have been changed since cars were built-some pumps are really fast and cars fuel filler is at a steep angle-it's gonna burp

Better than golfs tho-they rust and you get fuel on your best sambas lol

And

Never have a issue with mine fills on the pumps fine when I do use them I normally use a rotary fuel hand pump and can fill 25ltrs out of a drum it to it in about 2mins could be less tho as its 1ltr per turn it just has a 25mm pipe and nozzle.

Me too, i do exactly as Mac Crash says.

Every 205 we have is like this, just don`t fill it quickly and its fine.

Diesel ones are a bugger as the fuel sometimes is very frothy, its like it has fairy liquid in it.

Makes you wonder if someone has dropped one of those daft ' fuel additive blocks' down the filler pipe and it has wedged itself at the elbow . I fished one out of my tank once , a small net of pellets !

Might be worth poking something flexible down the filler to check .

I dunno I have exactly the same thing, I just kinda figured petrol pump technology has come along way since the eighties.
