Dellorto 45 Dripping Fuel

Recommended Posts

Got a set of dellorto 45's on the mi and when the car has been turned off after running when you look down the ports (if that's what you call them with the butterfly's in) you can see fuel dripping, it looks like it's coming from the main jet? Not the brass thin one at back (if that makes sense to anyone!) just wondered what could cause this? Fuel pressure/ a seal? Cheers

Yes possibly fuel pressure, what pump set up are you using?

It's using a facet cylindrical pump, not sure if it's a red top, gold etc, someone else mentioned about fuel pressure to me, it hasn't got a regulator but not sure if it needs one?

And

Check the float level and that the float hasn't got a leak and also the valve the float fixes onto sounds to me that's the issues if it's turned off at the time and it's a high fuel level draining through the main jet before it drains externally, I have had it before.

Il take a look at that cheers, would it be wise to fit a regulator? Did a track day in it at brands yesterday and it did it when coming back to garage but did also notice it "bog down" and splutter a bit when off throttle suggesting maybe the fuel is still dripping in during driving.

And

If it's a red top yes they need it, I don't with my facet pump but mine I picked had the correct flow for what I needed
