Recommended Posts

Hi chaps,

Please excuse me for bringing this up again,

It's only as I picked up a project car and wondered what this guy has done and not done to make it work!

Thanks in advance

Ok so it looks like I need remove that cut blank on the end of the adaptor

order an oil pressure switch and then find a plug in the bay somewhere,

Do I just order a 306 gti one and then a plug should be found that will go straight on to it?

Thanks

yes, any m16x1.5 pressure switch will do the trick, 8v - mi16 - gti6.

The pressure switch is there, white one, if your looking at the low oil warning light it might be by the oil breather pipe to the right top of the engine, you will find a grey 2 pin plug which it plugs into, depends on the year of the loom

Oki doke, so some had 2 and therefore the one pictured could stay like this and I replace the one higher up to the right?

Also could it cause the dash lights to do this sometimes or is this another problem?

Water temp gauge works fine, as you can see the engine is running,

Seems to have a slightly lump idle too. Still goes well but I haven't driven another gti6 so I'm unsure.

Really could do with meeting someone to let them have a spin as see what they think of its overall performance.

The car was sat for 9 years in a garage prior to the gti6 being finished by myself.

If you have the wiring for the oil pressure warning light plugged onto the oil pressure gauge sender, that'll make the STOP light come on dimly at idle (and typically get brighter with more revs, as more revs means higher oil pressure and less resistance from the sender).
