????

The denji replacements are OK for the money, but retain your original plastic backings as they are far superior to the denji ones. Also I recommend giving the denji metal surrounds a couple of good costs of paint before you fit them, they like to rot otherwise double quick!

Thanks Tom.

Seems the Denji ones are fitted to my gti6 but one has a crack, not sure whether to go with yellow lenses whilst I'm at it or standard clear.

Hmmmm

Ha! Amazing, you wonder how they stay in one piece.

Service history for my 1989 CTi proves these lights had been replaced 6 times yes 6 times, by 2003, when I bought it.

The last set are still on the car...and they have looked as bad as the one pictured for many years. I've no intention of fitting a 7th set!

Many years ago I pulled a pair off a base model in a scrapyard, a GT or XS or something, that had silver-backed plastic reflectors. Instead of corroding into a pile of rust flakes, the silver flaked off leaving the bare plastic, which I now know how to fix. Unfortunately I left them on the car when it got scrapped :( Can't remember for the life of me what brand they were! Anyone know?

I've had my current GTi for nearly 7 years now, and took the rusted driving lights off as soon as I got it, and have never had enough spare money to waste on new lights that will corrode as soon as they smell the salty sea air here....
