Battery Clamp

Recommended Posts

Ramigojag

Hi all, just got the 205 out of its hibernation over winter and I can't for the life of me remember where I left the battery clamp.

The one I did have was two pegs with hooks and a bar across the top.

Had a browse on eBay and the only clamps available for a 205 are the slightly newer style of a plate with a bolt through that clamps onto the lower edge of the battery. I do t think I have the right tray for this kind of clamp.

Which one is original, and proper for the car?

I don't recall seeing a gti with the long rod type clamp, from phase1's to late phase 2 cars, though not a very early example, so the 99p type from a dealer would be my choice

a picture of your battery tray will help.

Think I can see what they've done. The loop where the peg would go through is using the bolt hole for the normal clamp type.

I'll order one of those from the dealer

Bit of a thread resurrection, but has anyone got the servicebox part number for these clamps please? Just had a look but can't see the right type of clamp - can see plenty on ebay for about £5 but 99p sounds more attractive.

Thanks for the part number and price update Mei.

Don't like the sound of buying five. I'll give the nearest parts desk a call, see if they've got any available.
