A long term project which, is still going on, in the need of a new roof. I want to pass the MOT(apk in holland), before the summer. So that me and my family can enjoy the hood down in the summer.

Als you can see my help in the picture`s, it is my daughter, who doesn`t mind to have grease on her hands, but hate sand on her hands.

This is how the car is now, I'am know placing the interior, with a few upgrade`s, heated front seat, 4 speakers. Looking to get the rearwindow heated, for the winter day`s. (not directly on it, but with a blower desgin like the front screen)

The rear seats are a good idea, I know there have been a few discussions about (the lack of) three point belts in the back of 205 Cabrios on here over the years.

Woah awesome, you really saved that 205. The last time I saw that much rust was back in 2012 on my 309, I could fit my hand through those holes...

Great stuff, that's the worst 205 cabriolet corrosion I have ever seen and ive seen a lot, do you or did the car live near the sea by any chance? They don't usually rot away to that degree unlike the tin top variety.

 

Today I have removed a rear quarter from a cti and seperated the top half of spot welds of the sill, very thick steel you can see where the strength (and weight) is in these cars.

 

Its killed me in the freezing cold and it was a lot of work but ive got it off with no dents or kinks, will be removing the other rear quarter and sill tomorrow.

 

Are those 16 inch nimrods and do they catch anywhere?

@ Jackherer: The 3 point harness, idea came, so that I could fix the child seat, as it is suppost to be fastened, only the car took a bit longer work . And it is something you get used to, when I sit in a other convertible in the back, I really don`t like the 2 point-harnesses, because Ì'am not used to it any more.

 

@ Slo: It had a little bit rust on the sill, only when I bought the car, I was then stil building my garage, and the car was parked in the grass, and that is not a very rust preventif . And I live about 25 miles from the sea, and about 3 mile`s from heavy industry.

 

But the rust on this car, was repairable.

 

If you really want to see, horror rust picture`s of a 205 CTI, I should post them from the 205 CTI i had for parts, but drive it as a daily because it had MOT(apk). I'm glad i didn't had a accident with that car.

I asked about living near the sea because i once bought a 605 from southampton docks, it was the exact same car as mine same colour same year same model everything but where mine was immaculate this other car was as rotten as what you have posted above and the cars are fully galvanized.

 

Those sills are incredibly strong
