Gti6 Conversion - What Would You Use

Recommended Posts

Silky

I'm not asking about engine, loom, Ecu etc as its been covered plenty of times and I can use the search function.

However, got another question

If you had a complete 306 GTI6 sitting next to your 205, what other parts would/could you use?

Power Steering setup

ABS

Suspension parts

Hubs

Beam parts

Driveshafts

Just looking at what could be used and upgraded on the 205. Understand a Xsara VTS is probably easier to use but they can be harder to find.

Thanks, Michael.

ABS would be fairly involved, can't use that many suspension parts, front struts mean the drop links are at a weird angle on 205's, rear dampers are of use. Do not use the hubs as they give you the wrong camber, drive shafts aren't really of any use unless you run a 306 gearbox and use the inner half of the shafts and not changing the diff.

Brake calipers though!

Rear arms off the beam, rear anti roll bar can be shortened for 205 use.

abs is easy, the loom is self contained, only time consuming bit is making the lines up.

hubs are only compatible after being modified to the correct camber, bj hole on later ones would need to be sleeved down.

steering rack and pas setup complete could go on.
