Removing Magnex Manifold.

Recommended Posts

Bobbafett

I've got the manifold off but is there a way to take it out without taking the subframe off? It definitely no way will go out underneath as the subframe and various other things are very much in its way.

I'm close to getting it out the top but I just can't get it at a sharp enough angle to get it round and out.

Any ideas before I grind it up? It's in really good nick so it would be a shame for me to have to cut it up.

support the engine on the sump and remove the top arm, tilt the engine forwards.

I've got my nice tarted up standard manifold in which is nice:

But can anyone tell me why oh why my middle box is at an angle like this? It was like this when I jointed a standard middle section to the Magnex manifold and it was one of the things that really bothered me. It's obviously connected onto the manifold square and proper. Any ideas???

is it a sleeve fit to the downpipe? if it is, slacken the clamps and give it a good wiggle.

No it's one piece from the manifold. I'm starting to think it's just the manufacturer isn't great because this is the third Klarius one I've fitted and they've all done it.

ah, yeah I've not found Klarius to be great, I had to extend one for my ZX to make it meet a Bosal rear silencer!

Pick a straight area both sides of the silencer, make 2 nice square cuts, rotate it to suit, tack it up, then remove it from the car and weld it fully. Sorted.

I can't weld unfortunately and not keen on joiners. I might just have to live with it as long as it doesn't knock like the last one.
