How To Open Fuel Cap

Hi, I just recently bought a 1985 Peugeot 205 GTi, it needs some body work, but it runs flawlessly. I have only one issue; how to open the fuel cap? I use my key, and rotate it anti-clockwise. But the cap keeps to rating on itself without getting loose. any advise is much appreciated. Thanks.

After the key turns 90 degrees anti clockwise the cap itself should rotate 90 degrees anti clockwise then pull away from the car.

 

What keeps turning on yours, the key in the lock or the whole cap?

I think in on mine i put key in, turn key 90ish degrees anti clockwise, turn cap 90 anticlockwise, and it pulls out.
