Be4 Gearbox - Donor Vehicles

Looking to do a BE4 conversion in a 205 xs.

 

Can a BE4 gearbox from a 1.6hdi be used with the tu engine. I am aware that the 307/partner/Picasso 1.6 16v tu5 BE4 is compatible but just wondered if there are any others I should be looking at in the scrappy.

Can't use the diesel box I don't think, I'd keep an eye on ebay, I got a 40k miles tu5jp4 engine with be4 box from a Picasso for cheap, think it was £175 all in or thereabouts

just get down to a breaker and take it out yourself, far cheaper and you can ensure you get the matching bits.

Loads on Ebay at the moment. 20DL67 is the part number. Ratios are crap but it'll get you going.

Thanks guys. Not a great choice at the breakers at the moment. What does that code relate to? I have noticed ones for sale with different codes I.e. 20DM69. Is this also suitable?

code itself is quite irrelevant, as long as its from a tu and is a be box it'll work.

 

some final drives are more suitable than others but the gearsets are long.

Did anyone know where is the place of crankshaft sensor on the manual flywheel for ew10j4 engine and what kind of ecu can read it?I have a automatic and manual flywheel but the place that sensor can read it are about 40 degree different.I am confused.

will be in the same place on both, if its not then its not an ew box, sounds like Tu which this thread is about.

the box is right, but do you know exact place on flywheel that the sensor must read.I think the flywheel is rong.one of them of course.

the place is different on flywheels!
