1.6 Gti Brake Pads - Hill Climbing In Mind

Recommended Posts

jonb_5

Morning

I am going to replace the pads on the car and wondered if anyone had any suggestions with hill climbing in mind.

I don't really have any chance to get them up to temperature so something which works better from cold would be great....

Thanks

Jon

not sure what the Hillclimbers use, but I'd try rallycross pads.

Try Mintex 1155. Work well from cold.

Just fitted another set of ds3000, they're a fantastic pad even from cold.

1155's for budget or Pagid RS4's,

For those of you with DS etc's unless you change the disc you need to stick with those pads

Ok thank you. I'll get myself a set of the 1155's for now.

Any recommendations on places to pick them up, have found them on demon tweeks but I know they can be a little more expensive that others.

Cheers

Jon

I found Mintex F4R to have better bite from cold than 1155 or 1166 - a bit more pricey though. That said, for the hills, I'd probably go with 1144's unless it's something VERY quick.

Camskills can be good on price - certainly worth a look.
