Dfz Oil Pump

Hi can anyone help me please?! I have searchd for this topic but cannot find it.

 

As my engine is a 1993 DFZ (in a CTi) it is, according to Peugeot in Maidstone, the later pump which does not have a spacer. :huh:

 

I have checked Haynes but it just says the "The L-shaped spacer betwen the pump and the cylinder block is no longer fitted, and the locating dowel which fits in the cylinder block has been deleted."

 

In the absence of a gasket, it does not appear to have any sealing method betwen the pump and the block. What should I use to ensure an oil-tight joint please?

 

Also the seal between the crankshaft sprocket cover and the block.

oil pump just bolts down, seal carrier is sealed with sealant.

There are two thickness L plates, as fitted to XU9J4 and XU10J4 engines respectively. They are used to increase the tension in the chain for different crank sprockets and chain lengths in those engines. I don't think I've ever seen a spacer in an XU9 8V.

Thank you. That's all very helpful. What type of sealant to use please?

 

Also, my engine does not have a shouldered bolt (as described in Haynes) to locate the pump precisely. Is it ok just to bolt the pump down anyway?
