Any Insurance Recommendations? Currently With Greenlight And Its Renew

Recommended Posts

ATK

Currently with Greenlight for my 205, 5k agreed value, 5k limited mileage per year, 32 yrs old, 9 years no claims. Me and my other half on policy. Same age and she has been driving 6 years or so. Car garaged overnight etc.

£279 for the year Ive been quoted. Can I do better for an agreed value policy?

Have you tried flux, they can be very competitive sometimes.

Do your research on Flux, that's all I'm saying..

I have all mine insured with RH Classics - unbeatable.

Ps - mine costs about 140 per year fully comp, all mods declared including cage. The cover includes breakdown cover (including European trips!), windscreen, salvage retention, etc, etc.

Particularly the long running thread on Pistonheads with feedback on - it certainly makes for an interesting read.

My 205 GTI & Focus RS are both currently insured with Need 2 Insure and they do a lot of specialist insurance for the Ford / RS boys so know their way around classics, agreed value, etc, so may be worth adding them to the list for a potential quote.

Edit - the long running feedback thread on PH appears to have been removed sometime last year. But the current 10 page thread seems to cover some of the concerns from the previous thread.

Flux are just brokers so it all depends on who you're actually insured with as to what experience you get.

ATK: Are you running your 205 as a daily? You can only use your NCB on one car.

Both my GTIs I had insured with Performance Direct. Always been cheap and never had an issue with them. Not had to claim, mind.

Gazmav, no its not my daily. But my daily is on a fleet policy through my business so id like to retain my NCB on my 205.

For the level of cover agreed, the price maybe, but for the service levels most definitely not..

I've used Hagerty previously, but this time round Lancaster was very cheap. Both on a classic policy.

I know flux are a brokers.

The solicitors they choose to use are a joke, no body communicates with any one and took me nearly a year to get a claim closed
