Spring Gone In Ignition.

Recommended Posts

iPlod999

The spring in my ignition barrell decided to give up on me a couple of years ago.

Got a second hand barrel and all is good.

However, I now have 2 keys. Other for doors, boot petrol cap etc.

Is there away of repairing the original? Is there someone on here that can do it?

I would love to go back to one key.

Cheers.

Which spring went? I've had my barrel apart a couple of times but only to get to contacts on back of it-would you be able to make both into 1? Barrels are just a series of different slots at different heights hence lumps on key-put lumps and slots together everything drops down and allows you to turn barrel-have repaired ford ones in past but it's a real faff but doable

eBay lock kits 2nd hand are bout £100!! Remote central locking kit (hawk) fits straight onto 205 doors-that's what's on my car

When the old barrell was in. The 'spring' was when the key 'spung' back when starting.

I had to manually turn the key back to stop the starter motor from spinning.
