Are All The 205's Going To Be Gone Soon

Just been looking threw the forsale thread and it seems that there are 3 times as many people breaking these than restoring them.

especially when some of them say "rust free"

I'm after one to restore but seems like everybody would rather break then restore.

Not likely, you're looking in the wrong place really, there's about 6k still registered iirc, about half on the road.

I agree with WP, this club is a bad reflection if you are looking at breaking vs selling. In my opinion not many cars get sold on here as we all A) have cars or B ) are all tight as f***!

I took 3 dumps today but hardly ate anything. Conclusive proof that I shall soon wither to nothing.

Feel free to buy my sorrento shell I have been breaking and restore it to it's former glory :) I'd rather see it go to someone who will use it then the scrapyard

What parts are you going to use to restore your gti if you can ever find one . I hope you are not going to use parts from a 'broken' car .

Less folk are breaking cars lately.

Mines in the garage in bits and there are thousands more across the country either waiting on or being restored at different paces so I doubt there will ever be none around unless north Korea goes a bit more mental or something lol

Loads still kicking about. I know of at least 5 within half a mile all GTis.

Plenty tucked away in garages like mine...

As said before this forum is most probably not the most plentiful supplier of cars for sale. Many of us have had our 205s for many years, many such a mine evolving from daily driver to hobby/toy as when the time to change vehicles comes we simply haven't wanted to part with them. Many will also have "project" cars stored away and "parts" cars from when they could be bought from 50-100 pounds regularly!

As supply of new parts dries up these projects are no longer viable or we have to sell off/swap duplicated parts for those that we need.

I think it shows the dedication of most of us members to our cars that few viable cars are sold on, despite rising prices, and the willingness of us enthusiasts to share hard to replace parts with fellow enthusiasts.
