jonb_5 6 Posted January 12, 2016 Hi I have a braided, I think Teflon fuel line to run through the car and just wondered where people had ran then before. I could run on the opposite side of the tunnel but thought it would look neater down next to the drivers seat on the ledge below the drivers door. Would be well out of the way there aswell. Thanks Jon
Miles 331 1 Cars Posted January 13, 2016 I tend to run them down the middle of the car, having them by the sill is the most exposed area is crashed and can get crushed by the roll cage mount
Biggles 65 Posted January 13, 2016 Agree - I run everything down the middle - fuel lines, brake lines, wiring, ext pull cable.
petert 601 Posted January 14, 2016 Under the car. Little chance bursting open and spraying the cabin with fuel in a crash. Of course that only happens to other people.
TAG 25 1 Cars Posted January 14, 2016 What's the purpose of the car? Road?Track?Rally?
welshpug 1,666 Posted January 14, 2016 definitely inside if its a rally car, and 100% NEVER outside or under the cage, you wont pass scrutineering with it there, for reasons mentioned above. anything else and I would run standard hard line under the car. jonb_5 6 Posted January 14, 2016 Thank you for the advice. The car is for hill climbing - the reason I have been looking at putting them inside the car is I have damaged the lines twice now and repaired, hence the reason for completely replacing them... First time, was loading the car on and off the trailer. Second time was a trip through the bushes at Wiscombe. So if I were to run them inside up the passenger side of the exhaust tunnel you think that would be OK? Thanks Jon
Biggles 65 Posted January 14, 2016 That's where mine have been on a number of cars.
jonb_5 6 Posted January 15, 2016 Thanks for the input. Shall just put them there then.
Andy 105 1 Cars Posted January 30, 2016 I have both my brake and fuel lines inside the car, near side sill, as you were planning, although mine is a road car. Teflon lined is an absolute must if you are using flexible lines( I did) In my experience, any other type will leave a fuel smell in the car as the rubber type tend not to be odour proof!
