205Mi16 Conversions

Are there any views good or bad on whether buying a 205 with an mi16 conversion is a sensible idea, or whether i'm potentially just heading for a heap of trouble and expense....

It will depend on the car, an mi16 in a 205 is arguably the best combination, but it will depend on the quality of the conversion and how good the rest of the car is really, much like buying any other 205.

As above, it's a 25 year old car.

Go and view it and look for the normal 205 things - the list is almost endless.

Then check the quality of the conversion; there are some very poor home bodges (although less so these days)

 

A 205 with an Mi16 is a very sensible idea!

As said, depends entirely on the conversion. There's a world of difference between a decent conversion and one bodged to run on the 8V ECU with all the wiring scotch-locked together.
