Sound like you know how to get a bargain miles... Is it a keeper or will you be selling it on?

Thanks for your responses so far guys, so far we have:

Anchorman - 12/01/87 - Graphite Grey

Miles - 02/03/87 - Graphite Grey

barneys66 - 07/04/87 - White

Koti - 27/04/87 - Cherry Red

Peteb - 01/10/87 - Cherry Red

Barryboy85 - 28/10/87 - White

JezG - Dec 87 - White

205Rallee - 12/87 Cherry Red (Thanks but you mention this is a Phase 1.5)

So to date a total 7. I've looked at the Drivers Cars section of the site and sorted these by year of which are 31 for 1987. If you remove the non205 cars and the 1.6/CTI models I reckon there's circa 17 1.9s (I say circa as on some it's difficult to confirm whether they are 1.6 or 1.9s). There's then 4 based abroad so that just leaves 13.

There's around 700 cars on the site so 13 out of 700 gives means <2% so were are a rare breed indeed! I know this is by no means scientific and the statisticians amongst us can will pull the methodology apart, but it serves as a rough idea which is all I set out to do when I started this thread.

Another interesting fact is there are a total of 472 (Taxed and SORN'd) 1987 models on howmanyleft.com, so if we only have 31 members on this site, 441 others need to get with it and join!

Good work Pete! Might be worth dropping the other members a pm to point them in the direction of this thread..?

Hopefully that site is relatively accurate for domestic cars, as I know for American imports it's very sketchy as relies on accurate Make/Model info, and sometimes that can be liberal at best.

Good idea Barney. I've sent a couple but looking at the driver profiles most of those that haven't responded to the thread, they have been inactive members for many months.

A lot of people have their account setup so they receive an email to alert them to a PM so it's worth sending them still.

You may find there is already a register on the Pscuk forum. I can't check as I'm no longer a paid up member. Tom? Henry?

Yes mine is a Phase 1.5, I went with my dad to the Peugeot Dealer in late 1987 to test drive a Dark Grey Phase 1 demo which he was going to buy and spotted a red sunroofed Phase 1.5 hidden away at the back of the workshop, that was the one he bought. i know it's a bit off thread but it must be one of the first/oldest Phase 1.5's?

My brother has a white D plate 1.9 in storage. Matt Evans' was a 1.9 E plate so a good chance it was a phase 1 too.

I have an old PSC register from back in the day. I know they are working to get a new one set up as I was speaking to the chairman the other night on this topic :)

Phase 1 display at Pugfest 17 for 30 years of the (UK) 1.9 GTI? You could argue it is this year as it was launched in Dec 1986. PeteB - if you want to be a Phase 1 registrar for the PSC then let me know. Better still, get yourself to the South Yorks group meet in Sheffield tonight!! Link

Only just got home from work so tonight is pushing it but thanks for the invite Henry. What would a 1.9 registrar entail - would be keen to know a bit more about this......

Hi, I'm a brand new member and me and my b/f own a 1987 D plate 1.9 in cherry red. I havent got any pics right now, well I kind of do but it's all wrapped up and not much to see.

We've just started cutting up a G plate this week for panels and spares. Hopefully it'll go back on the road one day

Just found the documents for it and it was registered 12/02/1987

Also I was looking on eBay to see if some of our spares are worth selling and noticed some adverts for stuff that said phase 1.5. What years would be 1.5? Sorry for my ignorance

Phase 1.5 was approximately 01/1988 to 09/1990. (Manufacture date, not registration)

The phases are actually just terms we use on here, they aren't an official Peugeot thing.

In reality Peugeot gradually introduced changes/upgrades on a continual basis and we have named some of the bigger rounds of upgrades, the dashboard changing from slider controls for the heater to rotary dials marked the transition from phase 1 to phase 1.5 and the smoked rear lights and clear front indicators replacing orange ones was the beginning of phase 2.
