I noticed an original 1988 1.9 in white go up for sale a couple of days ago on www.classiccarsforsale.co.uk for £18k and have been emailing the seller for details on history, etc. He's just mailed me to advise the car has now been sold. It does look an exceptional example but does go to show that top cars will sell for top dollar in a few days....

Tenuously related. I spotted a white convertible in a breakers yard a few weeks back. I'm in need of a bonnet so I went to take a look. It was a rather tatty CJ (I think) complete with rusty bits and torn roof. When I asked about the bonnet I was told the car wasn't being broken as there had been loads of enquiries about the car and the were very collectible. I was dumb struck.
