Anyone know of any online suppliers of a 5 pin resistor?

There's no listing on ebay for 5 pin connectors atm, only 4 pins

Before you buy a new one, try cleaning the spring contact and the small disc below it with fine emery cloth. You will see what I mean when removed from the car. This often makes them work again.

Also, the 4 and 5 pin modules are interchangeable - as I understand it, the 5th pin is just a "bypass" so with the fan on full-speed the resistor is taken out of the circuit.

If you particularly wanted a 5 pin version then a wanted post on here would likely yield one.

I soldered a wire from that spring to the actual board itself, this worked for awhile and now its just stopped.

So a 4 pin connector will work, that's good to know.

I don't really fancy buying a second hand one, which is 20+ years old, for it to let go in a couple of months

I have Air Con and my resistor had 5 pins, I slapped a 4 pin one I had in and the heater works fine. Am I likely to face problems when I finally get the air con gassed up? Do we think the 4 pin will still work??

Whilst I'm not that familiar with the 205 aircon setup, I can't see why it would give you any issues if it's working now without the A/C being gassed/active?

Thanks Anthony, if it just controls the speed of the fan motor then i guess not.

Cheers

No the module has nothing to do with the A/C system, I would stick to the correct one, I guess it just needs a new transistor which can be had from Farnell etc, or stick a wanted ad up on here
