Rear Light Problem

I have an issue with my rear lights.

The problem being when all bulbs are in place there is a sidelight working. When the indicator is turned on it doesn't light any bulbs at the back but the light on the dash stays on constant until I remove the stop light bulb then the front indicators flash but still nothing at the rear.

The stop lights don't work at all.!

 

I haven't yet had time to have a poke around with a multimeter but hoping to tonight so any suggestions before then would be brilliant.

Check the earth to the rear light would be my first suggestion - as a general rule, earth related faults can cause all manner of weird issues with unrelated circuits.

 

The rear light earth is behind the passenger side rear light (drivers side light earths through this as well).
