johniban 59 1 Cars Posted December 20, 2015 Can someone please advise me on how/where the clips fit to attach the side plastics on the 205 gti? i have the full dealer kit, seems too many clips for what i need and im a bit conifused about the rectangle metal clips
Ryan 99 Posted December 20, 2015 The metal clips fit on the bottom row of rivets. Fit the clips first and slide the trip up under them. Then the rectangular plastic clips go on the top row of rivets which are sticking through the holes in the middle of the trim. The red inserts clip over the top of the rectangular clips and cover everything up. This is the metal clips fitted:
johniban 59 1 Cars Posted December 21, 2015 Thank you Ryan that makes sence. What about the wheel arch trims, ive pushed in the little plastic cups into the holes but now i have black push in clips that fit ok, but i also have a load of white clips with the silver circle things and foam rings
Ryan 99 Posted December 21, 2015 Can't really help there I'm afraid. A previous owner had taken the arch trims off before and it was a real mix of whatever random clips they could get to fit the holes, so I've got no idea how it's supposed to be.
Pugleyrich 37 1 Cars Posted December 21, 2015 I guess the silver circle parts push on from the back to ensure they stay in place?
dobboy 231 2 Cars Posted December 21, 2015 Yeah, rubber washer type thing first then serated locking washer, to grip the "plain" type clips. You'd probably be better trying to get the service box diagrams then trying to make sense of it, although it's straight forward when you see it all fiited in place. Iirc there is one or maybe two spiky clips to go on front arches also.

mrfirepro 127 1 Cars Posted December 25, 2015 It's not clear from the photo but behind the star fixings there is a rubber washer.
johniban 59 1 Cars Posted December 26, 2015 ah does the foam/rubber washer go behind the star fixing on the inside rather than outside on the white clip
