Wobbly Steering Wheel

Recommended Posts

mowflow

I appear to have done something odd to my steering wheel/column.

I had the interior, including the steering column out. I refitted without any issue. Everything was fitted and bolted back up no problems. However, while dangling upside down in the footwell fixing something else I used the wheel to pull myself out and now there is a gap between the wheel and the dash and the steering wheel is all loose. Everything at the bottom of the column is still joined up as was and the main nut for the wheel is as tight as it can be.

Any ideas on what I've done and how to fix?

Yeah, it's tight and in as far as it will go. I'm wondering if I've broke the lock or something as there's now a gap and a white plastic ring loose in that are (behind the wheel, between it and the dash).
