Andy_C 50 Posted December 3, 2015 Glad you're both ok. That looks pretty scary!
Goliath 94 Posted December 4, 2015 Those are some pretty shocking photos, glad you are both ok. As said already it could have been a whole lot worse just a foot further forward. You should see if you can buy the car back off the insurance co for £50, leave it as an ornament in your garden and if ever you are having a bad day just look at it and think, it could be worse! steve@cornwall 100 Posted December 4, 2015 FFS!!!! Sent the v5 off to the insurers today and while parked outside someone has only gone and reversed into the 205!!! Luckily he has come into the shop and identified himself and its only cosmetic damage to the front wing and a cracked arch trim. I think I'm saying a home for ever and giving up cars. It's too dangerous in the outside world.
steve@cornwall 100 Posted December 4, 2015 And of course the insurers and gap insurers are disagreeing on value, despite both apparently using glass's guide. Doesn't matter how well insured you think you are there is still a way of losing out.
lagonda 42 Posted December 4, 2015 Hope the insurance issues are resolved favourably for you, but more importantly, congratulations on being able to walk away from that one. So....did you spot the tree coming down, or was it a case of wondering what the f*** was that, why have we stopped and the screen's broken????!!!

steve@cornwall 100 Posted December 4, 2015 I didn't spot the tree at all....one minute driving a clear road and then my wife screamed, the screen went white with a deafening bang and I tried to hit the breaks but couldn't. In my mind we were travelling blindly towards either the hedge or oncoming traffic. I didn't even register the damage in the car or that my legs had been pinned under the dash. My poor wife on the other hand saw the tree falling.

johnnyboy666 195 1 Cars Posted December 6, 2015 Sh*t the bed! I should imagine you'll hearing that noise in your dreams for a fair few months to come! Glad to hear you're both got away relatively unscathed. Re: the council info, a freedom of information request would probably do the job, I think they get 20days to respond or something along those lines. Hope the insurance stuff goes smoothly for you, that can be almost as stressful as the crash sometimes!
chrisj21 2 Posted December 9, 2015 Bloody hell!!! Glad to hear your both ok, as said that could have been very different. There's a tree I pass everyday on the way to and from work, I'm convinced it leans more and more and it's bloody tall, I think I'll call the council tomorrow having seen the effects of this. feb 47 Posted December 21, 2015 (edited) Jeez! You are both very lucky to have come away unscathed. Scary experience! What speed were you driving at when it hit the car? Edited December 21, 2015 by feb
steve@cornwall 100 Posted December 21, 2015 Were doing between 30 and 40, luckily it's not a car to be driven quickly! Bruises and stiffness is finally receding and returning to normal. May even lay off the painkillers for a Christmas tipple!. How are you finding the 500, Feb? We went for the 1.2 (still have the 205 for fun driving) and its a hoot to drive, loving it. (Even if the DVLA insist it's pink!!!!)
