Lhd Wing Mirrors

Can anybody tell me if LHD phase1 wing mirrors will they be any good for a RHD car?

Believe it or not....probably not. I bought a pile of spares including the LHD headlights I needed for my CTi when I moved to France. Following accident damage, I gave the repairer one of the mirrors from that lot to replace the broken one.

When I got the car back, I thought he must have bent or badly fitted something, as the adjustment range was dreadful. Eventually the penny dropped; when I fitted a spare RHD mirror I fortunately had, all was fine.

Typical French absurdity; the limit of adjustment is just about OK, so if they had designed the mirrors to have a wider range of adjustment, the identical mirror could have fitted both RHD & LHD cars. But hey, we're French, who wants to make things simple?!

You can dismantle the mirrors, and may find that you can swap parts.

It seem to me that the angle of the plastic casing is the main factor not the actual glass.... I did wonder if I swopped over the mirrors would that make and difference?
