What Cam Is This?

Recommended Posts

Hi folks

I've read a few posts on the different types of cam but cant see any paint markings on this one.

There is another stamp "HQ" and that's all I can find.

Is there anywhere else to look for a makers mark?

Reason I'm asking is that the car failed its mot on emission's. Its running twin webers and I think if this is a performance cam, I may need a vernier pulley to get it running right.

As always, any advice greatly appreciated!!

I can't help on your actual question, but you will struggle to get an engine tuned to give best performance on twin carbs through an MOT from experience. You need to find an MOT tester who knows his onions!

You might find it passes at a higher RPM and there is no reason you can't set your idle speed at that RPM for the MOT.
