Pairing For Abs Brakes

I'm pretty sure that my car has the ABS set up wrongly and want to get this right before I bugger about getting the ABS working. On mine it was paired front and back but the Autodata ABS book of the time seems to suggest that the Bendix Addonnix system in 2 channel mode should be paired diagonally, ie front right to rear left etc. Any thoughts or absolute proof greatly appreciated.
