L Quadrant Selector Arm Play?

Hi all,

 

I'm in the process of renovating my 205 and one of the things I'm replacing is the plastic gear selector bushes with bronze ones as I hate the sloppy shift I had. Should there be any play between the L arm and the sleeve within it that holds the bushes? I have play in horizontal and vertical planes as below;

 

 

It doesn't move a lot but it must be at least as much play as will be removed by fitting the new bushes!

 

Should it be moving?

nope, should not move at all, a fairly common problem ive noticed, easily rectified with a bit of weld.
