Exhaust Fitments

Recommended Posts

Guest ablister

just wondering if a non gti exhaust system will fit to a gti?

Is it all different or can certain parts fit?

I've tried to search through here but couldn't find any answers

Cheers,

ali

I know that the centre section deffinetly wont fit due to diameter and the xu manifold being at the back, shorter centre section. Im not sure on the backbox i remember mounting points being roughly in the same area but knowing peugeot they wont fit.

The GTi exhaust is specific to it & the exhaust from any other 205 model shouldn't be used, it would cause running problems IMO.

They lower spec models have a smaller diameter downpipe, centre pipe & the back box is of a different internal design as are the manifolds.

The mounting points are the same for the backbox but I wouldn't fit an exhaust from a smaller engine to the GTi.

if i bought a new centre section for my exhaust, which is what i'm needing, do they come with the downpipe too.

what i mean is, the 'centre' section available from ECP and GSF etc connects the manifold to the backbox?

sorry if these are daft questions but £45 sounds good 0if i0t i0.s0.

AFAIK GSF now only list the exhaust for the phase 2 cars which has an integral downpipe & centre pipe rather than a three peice system like the earlier 205.

There have been some people on here that have bought them from gsf & said they weren't of the correct design with the splitter on the downpipe that goes right down under the car like thay are mean't to.

I have an Arvin downpipe for the three piece system & that is of the right style but I don't know if the two piece systems are the same. If you can get one on promise that if it is wrong they'll return it for no charge then give it a try.

Strangely enough I have a diesel backbox fitted to my diesel 205. :D

Not trid it on my GTi's though, they are usually knackered when I take them off & can't be bothered to swap it just to try.
